Burnet

Hamilton Creek Park is a beautifully designed and landscaped area along the creek where you can go for a walk, have a picnic, or just sit and enjoy the scenery and people. This peaceful area is within walking distance of the downtown square.

Burnet is a popular tourist town located 60 miles northwest of Austin, Texas on Highways 29 and 281. Burnet is only a short drive from Lake Buchanan, Inks Lake and Lake LBJ. Burnet is the County Seat of Burnet County in central Texas.

Burnet has a golf course, an athletic center, an airport, a hospital, 2 museums and several tourists attractions.

The City of Burnet is going through a period of restoration, and many antique and gift stores now surround the Courthouse on the Square. Historical homes are also being restored as antique and gift shops and bed-and-breakfast inns.

Cottonwood Shores

Cottonwood Shores, Texas is a city in Burnet County, only 15 miles southwest of the city of Burnet. Located on the Highland Lakes chain, there are two boat ramps and a parks system that includes a Nature Preserve. Cottonwood Shores has a community full of extremely friendly people.

Granite Shoals

Granite Shoals, Texas is one of the Highland Lakes communities just seven miles west of Marble Falls in Burnet County. It is a popular destination for lake enthusiasts because it is home to 19 city parks on Lake LBJ. Granite Shoals is also well known for its air tours, caving, spelunking, farmer’s market, and pick-your-own produce.

The Highland Lakes, which are the largest chain of lakes in Texas, are a heaven for lovers of the outdoors. Lakes in this chain include Inks, Marble Falls, Travis, LBJ, and Buchanan. These lakes contain a vast variety of fish, including catfish, bass, bream, and crappie. Not only are the Highland Lakes excellent for fishing, but also for water recreation. All these activities can be enjoyed with a little music at numerous live venues.

Because of the mild climate, golf courses around the Granite Shoals area are open year-round, which has allowed them to be known as the best Texas Hill Country. Texans are also taking advantage of the great climate, producing several award-winning wines. Hunting for White-tailed deer, feral hogs, and wild turkey is best during the fall and winter seasons.

Highland Haven

Highland Haven is located in the central Texas Hill Country on beautiful Lake LBJ. Just seven miles west of Marble Falls on Highway 1431, the city offers just the right mix of convenience and country style to attract people of all ages.

Whether to enjoy lake living full-time or just on weekends, Highland Haven is the place to be! Highland Haven has its own city hall building that is dedicated to former Mayor Roscoe L. Holt. Additionally, there is a spacious Community Center located just behind City Hall that is used for townhall meetings and party gatherings. Trailer, boat, and RV parking, located on the city lot, is available to residents along with a limited number of enclosed storage rooms.

There are six parks situated around the lake for the enjoyment of residents and guests. Dove Park has a deluxe boat launch capable of handling large lake crafts.

Horseshoe Bay

Horseshoe Bay, Texas is located on the southern side of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson in both Llano and Burnet counties among the Highland Lakes communities. The location next to the lake offers some amazing views for residents and tourists. Horseshoe Bay is located only six miles from Marble Falls, Texas. It has a little bit of everything, from fine dining, lake access, golf courses, and excellent resorts. It is the perfect place to relax for a weekend long getaway, or to purchase a vacation home and retire.

Kingsland

Kingsland, Texas is a considerably small area located beside Lake LBJ. Kingsland is the perfect getaway location because of its year-round activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, golf, and picnicking. Bluebonnets and wildflowers bloom in Kingsland during the spring months, making it a popular tourist attraction.

Kingsland Community Park is a great place to gather with friends. It is located along Lake LBJ and is open all year. The park offers a ramp for interested boaters, which requires a small fee. Come enjoy Kingsland park, swim, and fish in Lake LBJ, and picnic on the banks.

Marble Falls

Marble Falls, Texas is a popular vacation spot due to its prime location. Marble Falls has five lakes nearby, some of the finest wineries, rich Texas history, outdoor opportunities, and great shopping. Check out the boating, camping, sightseeing, swimming, golf, and fishing. Marble Falls is the home of a leading authority on water tanks for residential conservation.

Most of the activities can be enjoyed at Lake LBJ Marina, which has a water park that is open in the summer for swimming, and has boat docks, boat sales, and boat rentals. Boating, swimming, and fishing can be enjoyed at Lake Marble Falls, which is five minutes away from Lake LBJ Marina. For those that do not want to hang out on the lake, Marble Falls Lakeside Park has a swimming pool, picnic table, basketball courts, and tennis. Lake Marble Falls hosts one of the largest drag boat races in America every August.

One of the most visited parks in Marble Falls is the Pace Bend Park, where individuals can hike, bike, camp, and fish. Krause Springs is another popular location, containing one of the most beautiful swimming holes in Texas, as well as a beautiful, icy-cold spring-fed swimming pool.

Some other physical activities to enjoy are paddle boarding on Lake Marble Falls, picking your own fruit at Sweet Berry Farm, horseback riding, and Cypress Valley Canopy Tours. Camp Peniel, Colbert Ranch, and Creekside Camp & Cabins are three locations that offer horseback riding. Just a 15-minute drive from Marble Falls, the Cypress Valley Canopy Tours are a thrilling zipline adventure through Spicewood.

Meadowlakes

Meadowlakes, Texas is a city located along Lake Marble Falls in Burnet County. The area was established in 1973 and spread out across 0.8 square miles of land. The city is only 2.6 miles from Marble Falls, 7 miles from Cottonwood Shores, and 9 miles from Horseshoe Bay. The original purpose of Meadowlakes was to provide drinking water, drainage, and wastewater services. Later, the community grew and developed around the Hidden Falls Golf Club.

Meadowlakes proximity to other big Texas Hill Country cities makes it the ideal location for residents and tourists. Individuals can enjoy the relaxed, lake lifestyle of Meadowlakes while having easy access to some of the most popular Texas Hill Country attractions.

An 18-hole championship golf course, the Hidden Falls Golf Club is a huge attraction. Golf enthusiasts of all levels will be pleased with this course, especially the last five challenging holes. The course includes a putting green, a pro shop, chipping and pitching area, driving range, bar & restaurant, and cart rental, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. until dusk.

Fans of all-terrain vehicles will be pleased with Hidden Falls Adventure Park. The park covers around 3,000 acres of land as is filled with trails. Trails accommodate enthusiasts of all skill levels.

Sunrise Beach

Sunrise Beach Village (better known simply as Sunrise Beach) is a peaceful little community of about 700 people located on the southwestern shore of Lake LBJ in the central Texas Hill Country. Lake LBJ is the third of the seven Highland Lakes that run from Austin 85 miles northwest along the Colorado River. A normally constant-level lake, Lake LBJ is one of the most popular lakes in Texas for boating activities.

Sunrise Beach is less than 60 miles up a very scenic drive through the Hill Country from Austin. It is located 85 miles north of San Antonio, 200 miles south of Dallas and Fort Worth and 220 miles west of Houston.

Boaters love Sunrise Beach, as it offers everything you need for perfect boating. If you’re interested in renting boats or SeaDoos, there are several docks available, as well as waterfront fueling stations, repair services, and a large selection of boating parts and accessories.

Lake LBJ is perfect for boating, water skiing, jet skiing and swimming. It has many quiet protected coves as well as the open water of the lake. Be sure to bring your fishing pole.

Sunrise Beach is also a very popular area for retired people. Property prices range from $100,000 to the hundreds of thousands. Because of the mild climate and the beautiful views, many people are attracted to the area from the colder northern states. Many spend the winters in Sunrise Beach and then decide to retire here.

In addition to the full-time residents, a few hundred people own vacation homes here. Sunrise Beach is close enough to Austin that some people move to Sunrise Beach and drive to Austin to work. The drive is gorgeous, and the traffic is light.
